Biblioflux: An introduction to biblioblogs and RSS feeds

This article looks at the ways in which the creative energy of the biblio-blogosphere and the widespread take-up of RSS feeds by professionals de-monstrate how an active community tries to share its practices – both in terms of information and technology – with the wider public, with the long-term objective of reducing the gap between existing technology and information and monitoring practices. The collaborative origins of Biblioflux, designed to promote blogs as tools for book trade and library professionals, are analysed here through Everett Rogers’ diffusion of innovations model and the concept of use.
