Programme planning in the service of architectural ambition
The author relies on two examples (the multi-media library in the Troyes conurbation and the Paris VIII University Library) and on two works of reference (Bibliothèques dans la cité and Construire une bibliothèque universitaire) to explain the intrinsic role of the programme manager: to define urban objectives, architectural and functional in the general programme, and to define the objectives for the most effective use of space in the detailed programme (or the technical programme).
