Exchanges and transfers: French public libraries on the international scene

As the situation of public reading in France had radically changed in the last decades, international relations have changed as a result, in the sense of a readjustment of transfers of lessons and skills. So the reception of foreign librarians in French libraries has also developed, whether they come on study trips by subject, or whether the visits are tailored to individual needs. This international demand focuses notably on the architecture of the new municipal libraries, the development of inherited collections - on the spot and from a distance, services for the public, work in partnership with mother and child protection (PMI) structures, or else with contemporary literary production.
