The social and cultural function of libraries seen from Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis, France)
After a definition of the missions of public libraries and a historical background of their evolutions, the author of this article gives the principles which have guided the staff of the public library of Bobigny in the realization of the different actions it has led for the democratization, the increase of the public and the access of the biggest number of people to the cultural goods.
