In 2000, the San Francisco public library
A working group is thinking about the new San Francisco library thirty years ago. The existing buildings are outmoded and far too small. This re-creation concerns the new main library but also the renovation of about twenty branch libraries (they are 26), a technology system with on-line services, the development of the collections... being the access to the collections the most important goal. This plan will do the SFPL one of the biggest « neographic » library over the world.
