Comparison between French and Anglo-American cataloguing rules
After she had reviewed the different standards published since the Paris principles held in 1961, the author compares French cataloguing rules with Anglo-American ones. There are 5 topics in her comparison : material presentation, cataloguing levels, bibliographical description, different access to this description and entries form. In spite of their different approach, there is a great compatibility between these rules, which makes exchanges possible. But to be read in machine their formats need to be compatible too.
