Given to see: from exhibitions to the uses of graphic design. The case of the Le Havre university library
The Le Havre university library has a twofold interest in contemporary graphic design, first of all in using it as a professional tool for its visual communication needs, and secondly through regular exhibitions not only for the university community, but also for the wider public. It has hosted an annual graphic design event, Une Saison Graphique, since 2009. The two strands of exhibitions and visual communication cannot be separated, as both reflect a broader aim to showcase intelligent art capable of interacting with the public and create a visual environment or landscape that is a prominent factor in ensuring a user-friendly experience for students.
