A photographic invitation: the Pierre Lafond collection at Caen University Library
Pierre Lafond bequeathed his extensive iconographic collection to the University of Caen when it was rebuilt after being bombed in World War Two. In 2013, the Caen university library and the Lower Normandy Regional Literature Centre worked together to digitise 1,839 photographs from the collection featuring First World War scenes: the joint project was given official status as part of the national events commemorating the centenary.
