Is the exception governing teaching materials relevant for libraries?
All libraries have to work within the new practices introduced by the de-materialisation of content. Does the specific remit of libraries attached to teaching institutions require exceptions to be made to copyright and other associated rights? More specifically, can they claim an exception governing teaching and research? The article postulates that this is not the case, since this exception is a highly complex mechanism that is not destined for use by libraries.
