The death of decentralisation? A view of the reforms from the Creuse
A librarian working in this extremely rural département gives her point of view on the reform of territorial collectivities. It has often been pointed out that the project may pose a real threat to equality of access to services, but could it also be an opportunity to reorganize the French library system, not only as a means of instigating greater co-operation between libraries, but also of involving readers and elected representatives in achieving the objectives drawn up by Unesco?
