Libraries in Switzerland: facts and figures
This article presents the development of statistics on Swiss libraries, from the earliest data collected in the 19th century to the gathering and publication of data by the Federal Office of Statistics and the Swiss Library Association (BBS) from 1960 onwards. It also presents the changes arising from a new initiative to gather statistics on Swiss libraries in 2002 and computerised data collection with the launch of the eBiblio service in 2008.
