Regional library services in France
Regional libraries (bibliothèques départementales) in France provide services to other libraries such as document supply, training, consultancy and expertise. Can they therefore be seen as service providers? What are the particularities of their relationship with their own service providers? A survey carried out in 2007 by the Association des Directeurs de Bibliothèques Départementales de Prêt highlights some of the peculiarities of regional libraries in this field.
