The Margaret Herrick Library: a mine of resources on the cinema
The Los Angeles Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences –which, amongst other things, awards the Oscars– possesses a research and on-site reference library, open to all, devoted to all aspects of the history and topicality of the cinema industry and profession. The collections of the Margaret Herrick library comprise, as well as books and periodicals, 31.000 posters, 1.000 special collections –including curiosities– scenarios, story-boards, set and costume designs, accessories, partitions and film music recordings; and ten million photographs
