Library museum or library in a museum? The multi-media library at the Quai Branly

The collections at the multi-media library of the Quai Branly Museum, which has inherited the collections of the library of the Museum of Mankind and those of the National Museum of African and Oceanic Arts, focus on ethnographical works, and are also made up of numerous printed reviews, 700.000 pictures, films, sound recordings and electronic documents, files of works and archives. Each of the three sites of the multi-media library, reading room open to the general public, multi-media library of study and research and a documents room of collections and archives, has found its public, ten months after its opening.
