Frequency of access to the Internet site: an evaluation exercise at the Lyon Municipal Library

Ten years after the creation of its Internet site, it is imperative that the Lyon Municipal Library be able to evaluate its impact. Indicators can be borrowed from commercial Internet sites, practiced in quantitative and qualitative evaluations, but they are derived above all from surveys such as those carried out on site, precisely in order to allow the comparison between physical and virtual frequenting. The similarities are extremely noticeable, the site seems more like a virtual extension rather than a separate part of the physical library. What form of evolution should be put in place in order to get beyond this role and allow new publics to be served?
