Folksonomies: users indexing the web
Folksonomies (a term made up from folk and taxonomy) allows Internet users to index digitized documents in order to access them again more easily through a system of key words, known as tags. A debate is exercising web specialists about the advantages and inconveniences of this system of indexing compared with controlled vocabularies devised by information professionals.
