Longevity and mobility
The present tendency, as much sociological as political, aims at reducing the length of service of civil servants in the same post. The author of the article analyses the two alternative sides of longevity-mobility, taking into account geographical and demographic factors. He underlines the absence of global statistical data and supports his analysis through examples, ranging from those of the General Inspection of libraries through to the cadre of conservateurs and their professional experience.
