What does the concept of proximity mean for a departmental library? The example of the bibliothèque départementale des Yvelines.

In 1999, the BDY restructured its network into twelve geographical sectors, under the responsibility of a team librarian, in charge of lending services, information collection, and librarianship advice at primary level. This redistribution had an impact on the statistics, the internal organization, the structure of the network and the relationship with departmental librarians. It opened up new avenues of thought in favour of the concept of proximity.
