Schools and libraries: joining the regional network

Created in 1982 upon the request of the Montpellier municipality, the school lending service became a resource centre for schools and children's literature in 2000. Located in the central library of the Émile Zola district of Montpellier (BMVR), it occupies more than 500 m2. It offers some 53,000 documents and has become a partner for schools, crèches and day care centres. Its main function is to lend books and to introduce children's literature in schools, but it also has a mission to counsel and to train (IUFM and IRTS students, teachers, staff of day care centres, librarians, etc.)
