An education service in the library: the example of Châlons-en-Champagne

Created in 1997, the education service of the public library of Châlons-en-Champagne aims to integrate the exploitation of patrimonial resources into educational and cultural training, and to facilitate the discovery and use of these by students by devising suitable procedures and teaching tools. The themes proposed balance predetermined supply and teachers' requirements. The practical and sensitive approach to the documents through the experience of workshops is fortunate. This service, which operates in synergy with the institution as a whole, gives it a new multidisciplinary dimension.
