Teaching literature at college and in the lycée: some aspects of daily practice

The teaching of literature holds some surprises. Thus, the difficulty of a language does not constitute a major obstacle to the reading of the texts. Some accounts (ancient, medieval, classical, etc.) fascinate students, who find reflected in them their own most intimate concerns. Whatever the difficulties encountered in going against a society that puts forward more and more regressive and standardised models, it seems more than ever necessary to help students to have access to great texts, created in subtle and complex language - just like humanity itself.
