Oral literature sound archives: collecting, providing information and promoting traditional music

From the 1970s on, the rediscovery of regional and popular cultures has been taking place, whether by collection of the musical repertoire called "traditional" or of different forms of oral literature. Within a few years some sound archives with a regional vocation established themselves with conservation and opening up collections as principal missions. The setting up of a documentary network and the spread of digitisation today allow the emergence of unpublished sound as a new documentary source alongside images and texts.
