The Centre-Ressources-Lecture of Guyancourt: A Hybrid and Polymorphic Device

The sociological enquiry devoted to the Centre-Ressources-Lecture (CRL) of Guyancourt (Yvelines) by the author of this article has given occasion to study the reading practices and representation of the book in different territories, among children belonging to deprived social groups. The interviews and observations realised with pupils which have been exposed to the CRL show that, for this particular population, questions regarding the size of reading equipage, their development, the volume of collections and the care brought to their mediation are crucial.
