The New Tools of Urbanism at the Service of Prospective Librarianship
The object of this article is to show the value that the librarian will soon be able to draw from Systèmes d'information géographique (SIG). Used by town planners, it allows the management of data to be linked to the management of a region, a town or a rural area. Tools for analysis and comprehension, for management, for canvassing, as an aid to strategic planning for mediation, it would surely allow those responsible for libraries to draw precise information on regions and networks upon which they are brought to bear.
