The Institut de l'Information Scientifique et Technique in the era of quality

The orientation towards quality management in 1993 has proved a necessity and a factor in the progress of the Institut de l'information scientifique et technique. The stakes and the vocation of the institute to be an important player in the production of information have shaped its objectives, notably in quality assurance, control and management of quality and the process of improvement to products and services. The axes around which the policy of the quality system, as well as achievements up to the present, have been developed are related here. The will to impregnate the institute with a culture of quality has been the watchword in the construction of the system. In effect, without wanting too much to conform to the norms right away, the institute has adapted the evolution of the management of quality according to internal reactions. The consolidation of certain methods at different levels has allowed it to progress regularly towards increasingly structured action and to take on its collaborators in a rhythm of integration at several speeds.
