Public Info Presse Service : the automated documentation of the press in the Bibliothèque publique d'information

Public Info, a documentation service aimed at users of the Bibliothèque publique d'information, offers a collection of press files which allows the recovery of topical documents on social and cultural subjects. This article describes the origins and the objectives of the installation of an Optical Disk Document Storage and Retrieval (oddsar), which permits both the internal management of the documents and their consultation by the public. Presented here are the planning phase, the methodology employed the development of the keyword index, entering of data... and finally, the putting in place of a public interface and the initial results of its being brought into service.
