The sections of the university libraries : history of a choice
The English, German or American university libraries generally have a central library with technical functions and specialized annexes. Sections are functional unities in charge of the service of the public and of the main part of the internal tasks. This article shows the administrative history of the sections during a century and points out the little number of studies devoted to the French model.
