The multimedia library of Arles : twenty months later

The Multimedia library of Arles was created in a very good context with ambitious objectives. Very quickly, frequenting and loan have got wonderful results. In the author's opinion, this is due to a whole series of constructive factors put in at the same time : building, relation with the public, modern offer, skilled staff, specific field reserved for cultural activities and communication, free service. The daily practice revealed or confirmed many failings and shortages : fitting out of the space, noise, hours of service, rate of the computerization, work management. The viewpoints are concrete and pragmatic : they consist of reducing the shortages and guaranteing a regular working of the service.
