User education : getting our priorities right
What can we conclude from the user education programmes ? The author is rather cautious : he thinks that we chose the wrong way by concentrating all efforts on the common user instead of sensitizing decision-makers and funders. The user education should be examined again, with a new data : the expanding online information will induce a multiplication of systems more and more simple to operate, for which a handling course will be useless. In the « online information age » the librarian should promote himself as a mediator and offer services and advantages of an efficient information management.
