The Continuing Education Courses at the Service des bibliothèques from 1976 to 1980

This study, assessed on a dissertation written for the examination for the Diplôme supérieur de bibliothécaire (École nationale supérieure de bibliothécaires, year 1980-81), is trying to make an evaluation, as exhaustive as possible, of the continuing education activities at the Service des bibliothèques, from 1976 to 1980. First comes the explanation of the meaning of the "continuing education" concept, followed by the analysis of the needs of the policies formulation, of the educational coverage evaluation. The survey of these activities makes it possible to draw a map of the courses, of the educational institutions, to figure out the financial cost statistics, the monetary allowances necessary to each kind of continuing education activities, and to establish the specializations and staff categories of the people involved
