Senior citizens and libraries: A new target for reading promotion policies
Senior citizens have ample free time but proportionately spend little of it in libraries. While many of them can access traditional library services, it is worth asking what their specific needs as a category are, particularly for frail elderly people who form a special population in their own right. Libraries must get into the habit of thinking of senior citizens as a target readership, identifying their needs and offering them innovative new services.
