Heritage under threat: Planning for the future at the Bibliothèque nationale de France
As one of the world’s leading cultural heritage institutions, the BnF is responsible for preserving and facilitating access to the cultural heritage not just of France, but of forty centuries of human history. This twofold responsibility for a significant portion of humanity’s common cultural heritage gives the library a particular duty of solidarity towards its sister institutions worldwide with similar missions to protect their collections.
