A fo(u)nt of knowledge: a typographical interview
Typography is everywhere. It is the image of the letter, the body of the text, a vector for communication, and a work of graphic design in its own right, forming a vital aspect of our relationship to print on paper, screen, billboard and signpost. Typography was at the beginning of the great adventure of print culture and has been a constant of its technological advances over the centuries; it shapes our reading practices and how we react to texts. The BBF interviews the font artist and graphic designer Matthieu Cortat to discuss the history of typography and its future in the digital realm.
