Scientific culture: can physics still be written about?
Scientific illiteracy seems to be gaining ground due to the twin effects of lazy relativism, leading to an increasing tendency to stick to subjective beliefs, and the paradoxically modern idea that the very notion of truth is suspect. A real effort is needed to translate scientific content for a wider readership, above and beyond the specific beliefs and scholarship of individual researchers.
