The role of the Catalogue collectif de France, past, present, and future

Ten years after its launch, has the CCFr been overtaken by more recent develop­ments in the management of library resources across France? A study of the catalogue’s content, recent developments, and future projects suggests that the CCFr remains a key tool for users in search of information and for co-operation between institutions, whatever their role. The listings for printed material are still being extended; the catalogue of manuscript holdings is in the planning stage, while work has recently begun cataloguing historical musical scores.
