The role of the Catalogue collectif de France, past, present, and future
Ten years after its launch, has the CCFr been overtaken by more recent developments in the management of library resources across France? A study of the catalogue’s content, recent developments, and future projects suggests that the CCFr remains a key tool for users in search of information and for co-operation between institutions, whatever their role. The listings for printed material are still being extended; the catalogue of manuscript holdings is in the planning stage, while work has recently begun cataloguing historical musical scores.
