Encouraging readers to share their points of view
As part of a survey of the factors contributing to the success of public libraries, the local authorities in the Val-d’Oise département carried out interviews with readers to complement the statistical data. The respondents talked about their reasons for visiting libraries and how they use them. They included a stay-at-home mother who loved learning, a father with a fondness for comics, a pensioner who was a regular visitor, and a student who enjoyed reading magazines. All of them talked about their reading practices, both at the library and in general, while sharing their point of view on their own local library.
