Inter-municipal co-operation in Clermont-Ferrand

In Clermont-Ferrand, responsibility for the public library system has shifted from the municipal to the inter-municipal level. This decision was at one stage linked to the project to build a new central library. Since this project has been put on hold, progress has been made on integrating all services offering public access to reading resources, based on a timetable and collective working methods drawn up by library staff working with elected representatives. The aim is to bring all the services throughout the wider urban area up to the same standard. The project is well underway and the time has now come to evaluate the progress made.
