Online services in the university libraries at the University of Western Australia and Curtin University of Technology (Perth, Australia)

In Australia, university libraries play a central role in university life and are often behind the introduction of new technologies. This article describes the online services available in two university libraries in Perth, including fede-rated searches in the catalogues of university libraries throughout Western Australia, an “Ask a librarian” facility available through email, instant and text messaging, RSS feeds, blogs and wikis for communicating and transmitting information, e-learning, courses and examinations in information science, a pool of Open Access publications, the LibQUAL+TM online quality control survey, and so on.
