The public policy for the book has been built around a desire to preserve the book, as a work of culture, from the effects of free market competition. With decentralization, mechanisms of support have been developed in most Regions, often around regional structures for the book with an inter-professional vocation. Relays for national policies, these mechanisms also take into account economic specifications for the economy of the book in the Regions; a subject of preoccupation which has increased due to the industrialization of publishing and the acceleration of its concentration.
