From the electronic book to electronic ink: new paper, new books?
New tools for digital reading appeared at the end of the 1990s. But they were unable to rival with print on paper books and the e-book was an economic failure. Since then other avenues have emerged, such has electronic paper and ink, which are at last being developed today. This is due to a change in context: digitization is now part of our life. The numbers of on-line books are on the increase, thanks to the Internet and broadband.
