The Knowledge Counter: a response to the demand for content

The Knowledge Counter at the Municipal Library in Lyon was opened in March 2004 and has met with considerable success from the public. The authors of the article list the guidelines on which the organisation of the service has been based. They respond to criticisms it has encountered from professionals and point out that a user survey demonstrates the usefulness of the method selected. Since the end of 2004, the Knowledge Counter has been included in Catalog+, in the same way as the traditional catalogue and digitized documents.
