Supported by statistics, the article outlines the situation of foreign acquisitions in university libraries, beginning with two examples: the Interuniversity Library of the Sorbonne and the library of the University of Provence. These two institutions are part of the network of Cadist (Centres of acquisition and dissemination of scientific and technical information).
