Virtual reference work: a service overrated, inflated and not even real
The authors explain why virtual reference work, although it may be of some interest, is much overrated. A typical reference service, in the presence of the user or by telephone, seems to them more efficient. Their article has started an open debate on the Web4lib list presented in an appendix.
