Supporters and voluntary workers for the supply of reading matter in the rural area: a network that is still concealed by the goodwill itself?
Taking the departmental lending library of the Ardèche as an example, the author describes the essential role of volunteers in the supply of reading matter in rural areas. Spurred on by strong motives and positions of responsibility, the volunteers, of whom there is a significant number in France, and who are organised in networks, constitute important intermediaries of opinion.
