Access to reading and information for visually handicapped people: realities and perspectives

In five regards, the article makes clear the position of production for handicapped people in France, with an increasingly ageing population, an unfavourable legal context, a production trend that is not supported by a truly commercial market; but also with technical innovation constantly making progress and revitalising the sector, and libraries that are open to handicapped readers, offering very specific services. Progress? Or stagnation? In each case, a growing interest in favour of visually handicapped readers, and numerous hopes and expectations, can be discerned.
