Elements of a music culture today
Means of dissemination particular to the present time can lead to a break-up of the idea of culture, in particular of music. The risk of standardisation and of a resulting loss of discrimination between items is a factor that must be taken into account, notably in musical education as a whole. The convergence of sociological, semiological, economic and pedagogical analyses shows how much this culture gains in richness as against what it loses in coherence.
