The regional Centres servicing the public libraries of Québec: management of resources in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Montérégie

In order to emphasise a strategic choice of management for an integrated network of 787 public libraries, as much on regional as on national levels, the eleven regional service centres for the public libraries (CRSBP) of Québec have opted for a re-engineering of their operations, targeting in particular the cooperative development of collections, the sharing of certain functions, and standardisation of library operations. This strategy relies on the use of information technology and on Total Quality Management (ISO 9001:2000) of services and products on offer to clienteles.
