Putting a Geographical Information System to Work in the Context of a Regional Library

If geographical information systems emerge little by little into the world of libraries, the use of a SIG (système d'information géographique) as a management tool within the context of a regional library represents a major trump card in its daily work. Allowing the integration, comparison and representation on a single menu of data that is often scattered (databases on the regions and their annual activity statistics, general information on the communes, subsidy requests, census results, etc.), the SIG gives to the regional library the means to evaluate and legitimise its policy choices
