Conceiving a Multi-media Encyclopaedia

Today, encyclopaedias are becoming multi-media. Initially on CD-ROM then on DVD-ROM, updated via the Internet or even completely transferred on the Web, enriched with animated images and sound. Above all, they are developing research possibilities beyond comparison with the indexes and tables of printed encyclopaedias. How does one create these new objects, and what kind of perspectives appear? The BBF has requested the opinions of the creators of one of these products, the Encyclopédie Hachette Multimédia 2000 (EHM 2000).
