The Architecture of "bibliothèques municipales à vocation régionale": Programmes, Projects

The buildings of "bibliothèques municipales à vocation régionale" illustrate contemporary tendencies in the matter of construction of public reading libraries. Their example is interesting from the point of view of the process which combines the programming steps, the architectural project and the public commission. This article intends to present, from the angle of witness to this step of the operations, a part of the functional options which emerge from different programmes, and on the other hand the spatial characteristics of twelve projects.
